A WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT…

Hi to All,

We are another week closer to being able to introduce a bit of normalcy into our lives. I am really keen to get back to doing some community work and fund-raising activities. I am particularly looking forward to the op-shop opening so that I can donate some plants for sale. Now that the weather is warming up I would like to do some pottering in the garden but there is no room until I can move some pots to the op-shop. I know that some members have been doing a “Spring Clean” and are anxiously waiting for the op-shop to open so they can deliver their donations. Please be patient; we will let you know when we can start accepting donations. We may have to stagger the process so that we are not overwhelmed.

Thank you to Nick Wareham for organising last weeks Trivia Night. It was a huge success and we all had a lot of fun. We had several family teams, teams of friends, a team from the Rotary Club of Malton & Norton in the UK, 2 teams from Donburn Primary School and several of our members and partners. The night was all about having a social evening, connecting with our Club contacts and lifting our spirits and it was a big tick for all three. The fact that we have made a bit of money for the Community account is an added bonus. Eugene Fredericks our Quizmaster not only looked the part but made sure we all had a good time. I have asked Eugene to attend a meeting once we can have contact meetings so we can thank him properly. Once again thank you Nick and Eugene.

This week we will hear from Cameron Campbell, Deputy Principal or East Doncaster Secondary School. We have a long standing relationship with EDSC and it would be great to have a good attendance to support Cameron.

The 28th September we have our Genealogist zooming in from Ireland. If you know someone who is researching their Irish links this will be of particular interest to them.

Guests are always welcome at our meetings so please invite people you think might be interested in any topic we are featuring

Lastly we have a Board meeting next Wednesday night. If you have agenda items that you would like your Board to discuss please let myself or Secretary Wally know.

I look forward to seeing you all on Monday Night.

Enjoy your week and stay safe.

Kathy.
