Rotary Club of Manningham
We are one of approximately 31,000 Rotary clubs comprising more than 1.2 million service-minded men and women in over 168 countries. The Rotary Club of Manningham is a network of over 30 professionals. The heart of our club are dedicated people who share a passion for community service and friendship.
Club members meet every Monday evening to enjoy each other’s company while listening to interesting speakers. Working to the motto of Service above Self, we tackle a variety of challenging tasks and have plenty of fun on the way.
WE DO THINGS! Last year the club raised more than $50,000 that funded projects that benefited the young, disadvantaged and environmental problems in our immediate community and further afield.
A few examples of some of the projects we are involved in are listed below:
-
Raise funds for emergency relief for victims of natural disasters (e.g. Disaster Aid Australia and Shelter box).
-
Conduct the Rotary Environmental Tree Planting (REPS).
-
Supports Doncare’s emergency food relief program
-
Co-sponsor the Manningham Business Excellence Awards (in conjunction with the other Rotary Clubs in the Manningham Cluster).
-
Manage Rotary Youth Exchanges (we sponsor students to different countries and host overseas students in Manningham - with the support of East Doncaster Secondary College).
-
Host the Annual Christmas Lunch for Thornbury Senior Citizens.
-
Our charity golf day raised funds for Life Again – fighting men’s depression
-
Support Rotary Internationals' program to eliminate polio.
-
Support Kind Cuts For Kids Foundation .
The Rotary Club of Manningham arranges at least one meeting a month that is of special interest to members’ partners and friends.
This family spirit extends to the club’s Rotary Op Shop in Doncaster East where many members and partners spend a few hours regularly as helpers, producing much of the club’s revenue and projecting the image of Rotary as a valuable contributor to community welfare.
Meeting Place:
The Rotary Club of Manningham meets most Wednesady nights at 6:30pm at The Manningham Hotel, 1 Thompsons Road Bulleen, in the Pavillion Room.
Possibility to join by Zoom is also available.
